Alberto Dalla Libera incontra Gian Antonio De Mori

Guest and protagonist of the new appointment of the Studio Dalla Libera in Padua is Gian Antonio De Mori, dynamic and effervescent entrepreneur and president of Demeral Italy.

For many years Gian Antonio De Mori (affectionately called Tono) follows with passion and attention the hairdressing industry and has long sought to propose effective, innovative and quality solutions.
The result of his intense work is the large family of professional products Demeral, a historic brand born almost 40 years ago.

With him we had an interesting comparison that concerns not only the world of hairdressers but also that of live music, great passion of our host.

HOW DOES DE MORI’S ``TONE`` STORY BEGIN?

Tono began his career at the age of 24. He arrives by pure chance in this sector: his partner at the time was not very happy that he had a job that kept him away too long, and so he finds a job as an agent for hairdressers.

Son of a housewife, De Mori enters an almost parallel world of young women, lively, at the same time mothers, craftsmen and entrepreneurs.

Women of great responsibility who invest a great deal of energy in their work. Who believe in their aspirations and pursue them with commitment and sacrifice.

Hence the concept of a cutting-edge company.

WHAT DOES THE PROFESSION OF HAIRDRESSER MEAN TODAY?

During our chat De Mori explained that the figure of the hairdresser has changed a lot in recent years. At one time being a hairdresser was considered a seasonal or temporary job, now no longer.

The hairdresser today is at the same time a motivator, an expert in chemistry and harmony, a person who has specific knowledge about skin and skin, a psychologist, an entrepreneur, an artisan.

A hairdresser can be all this. In one person.
“It’s a difficult job and doing it well is even more so,” Tono told us.

TRAINING FOR HAIRDRESSERS

In addition to creating innovative products in the name of research and development, Demeral is a well-known company in the field of professional training of hairdressers in Italy and beyond.

With its 3000 meters of space, the company welcomes hairdressers from all over Italy for a volume of 17 thousand visitors a year in the headquarters of Vicenza alone.

THE FUTURE OF THE SECTOR POST COVID

The pandemic in progress has had a big impact on the hairdressing industry because of the continuous and nerve-wracking closures and lockdown.

And yet De Mori is optimistic.
The future? Nothing is definitely compromised.

Of course, habits have changed, people have been forced to resort to “do it yourself” and to turn to the hairdresser for more specific services, difficult or particular, or to find solutions to skin abnormalities or specific advice. Progressively, the sector is returning to its old ways.

PASSION FOR MUSIC

The chat with Gian Antonio De Mori, however, did not focus only on the hairdressing industry.

Live music was the other great protagonist of the meeting.
De Mori has even decided to found a non-profit association (the “Friends of Sound”) aimed at promoting quality live music in small environments.

HOW IS THE PASSION FOR TONE BORN?

Today in Italy there is no great opportunity to listen to live music that is of quality.
That’s why De Mori has created within his company a lounge bar open to guests, singers and exceptional musicians.

“There are many very good professional musicians who are not sufficiently highlighted.” he confessed.

The events organized by the “Amici del Sound” are evenings of emotion in which live music is promoted as the truth of sound and union of human relationships.

Digital and headphones have certainly helped to listen to music in any place and at any time but live music celebrates for its part an exciting moment and cultural growth.
It’s good for the heart.

“Let’s enjoy life in all its nuances,” Tono told us, smiling.
